Privacy Policy

Firstly, lets cover the basics.

  1. - Your privacy is our primary concern.
  2. - We do not sell or provide any personally identifying information you provide to us to any third parties, unless required by law.
  3. - The information we request from you is aggregated with other user information so that we can understand the demographics of our member community. We then use this information to source content and develop features that we think may be of benefit or interest to our members.
  4. - We do provide high level aggregated demographic information to prospective partners and/or advertisers so that they can understand the types of members we have.

For example, "aggregated demographic information" can include statements like:
    - 49% of our member community are males; or
    - 55% of our member community are over 40 years of age; etc

We use advertising and sponsored content to fund the large portions of the service that are provided free of charge to the general public. Now to the more official stuff ;)

Privacy Policy is owned and operated by The Faulkner Trust. Your privacy on the Internet is of the utmost importance to us. Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we feel you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.

Personal Information

We gather two types of information about users: Information that you provide through optional, voluntary submissions. These are voluntary submissions when you register to become a member of the website, to receive our electronic newsletters, to participate in our message boards or forums, to email a friend, and from participation in polls and surveys. This information allows us to better tailor our content to members' needs and to help our advertisers and sponsors better understand the demographics of our audience. Because we derive our revenue mainly from sponsorships and advertising, providing such aggregated demographic data is essential to providing portions of our service free to members.

Third party subscription service - personal information

We offer a feature to organisations that use to enable their members, fans and/or customers to subscribe to regular information updates. This feature is in the form of a voluntary subscription form, that clearly identifies the organisation you are subscribing to.

We do not use, or copy information collected for our member organisations. This information is stored in the organisations' subscriber database, and is the property of that organisation, not, and as such is subject to their own Privacy Policies.

Usage tracking

We track user traffic patterns throughout our website. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual members.

We use tracking information to determine which areas of our site members like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.

We may place a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. The cookie itself does not contain Personal Information although it will enable us to relate your use of this site to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. We use cookies to track user traffic patterns (as described above). Our advertising system delivers a one-time cookie to better track ad impressions and click rates. You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser however this means you may not be able to access the site.

Use of Information

We use any information voluntarily given by you to enhance your experience on our site, whether to provide interactive or personalised elements on the sites or to better prepare future content based on your interests.

We create aggregate reports on user demographics and traffic patterns for advertisers, sponsors and partners. This allows our advertisers to advertise more effectively, and allows us to display content to our members that are pertinent to their needs.

We operate secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorised individuals have access to the information provided by you.

Opt-Out Policy

We give members options wherever necessary and practical.
